Car: Chevrolet Corvette
What makes it special: It was the last model year to feature taillights molded into the rear fenders and heavy grill teeth. And for the first time, all fuel-injection engines for the Corvette required manual transmissions.
What made it famous: The 1960 Corvette had some rare options available that year, like the RPO 579 250 hp engine, RPO 687 heavy-duty brakes and suspension, 15 by 5.5 in wheels, a power convertible top, and power windows.
Why I would want one: It was the last year of what I consider the most attractive of the C1 Corvette line, with it's dual headlights and rounded rear fenders. It truly fit the title of an American Sports Car.
Fun fact: The rarest and most unique color for the 1960 Chevrolet Corvette was only available that year, a Metallic Cascade Green, with just 140 cars ever produced in that color.
