AJ's Car of the Day: 1975 Hurst Oldsmobile 442 W-30
Car: Hurst Oldsmobile 442 W-30
What makes it special: In 1975 the Hurst/Olds was the first General Motors car to have a "Hurst/Hatch" removable T-Top style roof installed. It wore gold stripes on the sides of the car, also the trunk, hood, and mirrors. In addition, The H/O featured gold 15"x7" Super Stock III Oldsmobile rims.
What made it famous: They were produced by Oldsmobile and Hurst Performance Products. You had a choice of a W-25, which was equipped with an Oldsmobile 350 cu in V8 engine, or a W-30, equipped with an Oldsmobile 455 cu in V8 engine.
Why I would want one: Its not as common as the 1968 to '72 Oldsmobile 442's, so it stands out. Plus, it's first year T-Tops give you the chance to be in the wind.
Fun fact: The 1975 Hurst Oldsmobile 442 came in either Black (1,242) or White (1,293). Of these, only 1,125 were W-30's.
