AJ's Car of the Day: 1955 Ford Customline 2-door

Car: Ford Customline 2-door post sedan

Year: 1955

What makes it special: The Ford Customline was extremely popular, with nearly 3 million leaving the assembly line.

What made it famous: It received a lot of the Ford Thunderbird's styling, including an optional 200hp, 292 cu in V8 engine that was standard in the Thunderbird.

Why I would want one: As I have stated before, when it comes to awesome Street Rod material, I prefer to use a 2-door post sedan model. It just gives the car a raw, mean, no nonsense look. Also, many movie street rod builds are done using 2-door post sedan models.

Fun fact: Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban just recently plunked down over $50K for a 1955 Ford Customline Street Rod build done by Gas Monkey Garage of Dallas, Texas on an episode of The Discovery Channel's "Fast N Loud."
