Car: Dodge Dart GTS 2-Door Hardtop
What makes it special: This particular example shown in the photo is a very rare 1967 Dodge Dart 383 GTS 4-speed Positraction car. Only 457 383 GTS cars built for United States specification's, and only 1 of 3 were built for Canadian specification's. And is the only one like it.
What made it famous: In late 1967, the GTS model debuted, but was built in limited quantities due to its lateness in the model year. It featured a 280 hp, 383 cu in , 4-barrel carbureted V8. It had a top speed of 108 mph, a 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of 15.2 seconds off the showroom floor.
Why I would want one: First off, it's just a good looking car...best of all, it's got a 383 V8 in the same place where a base model 170 slant six would sit. Same body, big motor, PLUS a 4-speed manual transmission. Do the math.
Fun fact: The Dart name originally appeared on a 1957 show car featuring a body designed by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Ghia. In 1967, the Dart entered the SCCA's new Sedan Class racing series. In order to race in this series the compact cars were prepped like stock cars on the NASCAR Grand National circuit, and were given the nickname "Baby Grands."
