Car: Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe

Year: 1964

What makes it special: Chrysler Corporation’s Imperial line finally entered the 60's in a proper style with the car’s 1964 redesign. Gone were the fins and chrome of the 1963 model, and new were slab sides, razor-edged lines, and subtle trim highlights reminiscent of the 1961 Lincoln Continental. Visually, the car was just as successful. The 1964 Imperials had a stylized “tin spare” built into the trunk line, a boxy roofline, and a broad C-pillar.

What made it famous: The Imperial was divided into the Crown in both a two- and four-door hardtop as well as a convertible, and the Lebaron four-door hardtop. A split grille returned after one year's absence, and power windows were now standard on all Imperials. A new option this year was an adjustable steering wheel. All Imperials rode on a 129-inch wheelbase and were powered by the 340 hp, 413 cid V8.

Why I would want one: It's just classy, and a great cruiser with its 413 V8 powerplant.

Fun fact: A 1965 Chrysler Imperial was the crime fighting "The Black Beauty" vehicle piloted by Kato in The Green Hornet TV show.
