AJ's TOP 10 LIST:
A fire extinguisher inside a machine at a Plainville scrapyard exploded, sending it flying through the air for a quarter-mile and slamming into a home. Tom Rovis said he was inside his kitchen when he heard a loud boom. "It sounded like an explosion, then about three seconds later my whole house shook," he said. Moments before that, a worker at JW Green, a scrapmetal yard, was using a large machine and had no idea there was a fully-charged fire extinguisher inside. "The operator is about 30 feet from what he's cutting, so he can't see everything," employee Leigh Marshall said. "It's a fairly large machine, his view was limited and the sun was shining on him." The fire extinguisher split in two, sending half of it into a junk pile and the other half flying through the air onto Rovis' home. "It hit the top of my house and bounced off and landed about 100 yards down the house," he said. Rovis said he was stunned but thankfully no one was hurt.
