A Milford officer suffered minor injuries when he was punched in the face by a man he was escorting out of a popular city restaurant, police said. Luis Vazquez, 38, of no certain address, had been asked by the owner of Pop’s Restaurant on Old Gate Lane to leave the premises, but he refused, Officer Jeff Nielsen said. When police responded to the restaurant Sunday afternoon, Vazquez resisted arrest and struggled with officers, punched one in the face, Nielsen said. Vazquez was charged with assault on an officer, interfering with police, trespassing and breach of peace . He is being held on a $25,000 bond.
