Voting for the 2013 Nutmeg BooksChildren in grades 4-8 and any other interested readers are warmly invited to read, enjoy, and vote (next April) for their favorite Nutmeg book. The Nutmeg Book Award encourages children in grades 4-8 to read quality literature and to choose their favorite from a list of ten nominated titles. Please go to http://www.nutmegaward.org/93343/index.html for the intermediate titles (grades 4-6) and http://www.nutmegaward.org/93364/index.html for the teen nominees (grade 6-8).The library currently has all ten of the 2013 nominee books for each level and we will have the ballots for voting in April. Children are NOT required to read all ten of the books in order to participate. Participation in the Nutmeg Book Award voting is free, and there is no need to pre-register. The winners are announced on May 15. Previous winners included Lemonade Wars, Lightning Thief, Unwind, Hunger Games to name just a few.  We are also considering a Nutmeg Book Club which will begin in May/April of 2013 for the 2014 nominees.
