Michelle will be sampling traditional German fare; pork, cabbage and apples are definitely on the menu! Tuesdays, October 9th , October 16th, Oct 23rd 1 pm and  5:30 pm$5 fee Baking Cooking Class Series.  The outside air is crisp, and it’s time to turn on the oven!  Join Chef Michelle in baking seasonal quick breads and muffins, as well as make pies and cookies.  Sign up at the Customer Service desk.  Thursday, October 11th,   1 pm  Cooking on a budget.   Shopping on a budget? Join Michelle  as she will show you various ways to cook with our 365 Everyday Value private label products as well as items from our Whole Deal coupon booklet and get the quality you are looking for without the high costs.  Thursday, October 11th,   6 pm  Vegetarian Indian Cooking Class.  Join Chef Michelle in a fun night learning to make the vegetarian version of Korma.  This is a hands on class, which you will enjoy eating afterwards.  Sign up through Fairfield Continuing Education at www.fairfieldcontinuinged.org.  Cost is $29  Saturday, October 13th,3:00 pmSquash, Squash and more Squash.  Michelle will show you the differences between the many varietals of squash we carry here in the store.  Come see and taste the differences.  Free demonstration. Thursday, October 18th 4:30 pm$5 fee   Kids Cooking Class:  Simple raviolis.  Let’s make simple raviolis with wonton wrappers and great seasonal fillings.  We’ll also make an apple broth to top the raviolis.  This Hands on class is for kids over six years of age.  Sign up at the Customer Service desk.  Friday, October 19th 12:00 noon – 1:15 pm$5 fee   Adult Vegetarian Cooking Class:  Mushroom Risotto.  In this hands-on class, students will create a vegetarian fall mushroom risotto. Come learn how to make it creamy merely by using the proper technique.  Afterwards, participants will enjoy the food they created.  Sign up at the Customer Service Desk for this class.  Saturday, October 20th   11 am – 2 pm  Taste of the Harvest.  Michelle will demonstrate the versatility of the apple!  The apples will be cooked and used in a variety of ways:  applesauce, over your favorite meat entrée, or as a sweet cobbler.
