Speaker: Matthew Dawber, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics and Astronomy
Topic: Waving, Not Drowning: A Physics Light and Sound Show
Perhaps the greates realizations of the 20th century physics were that everything around us, is to some extent, a wave, and that electromagnetic waves are very special, because they have the same speed independent of the velocity of the observer. In this seminar, Dr. Dawber will provide a historic introduction to, and live demonstration of, some fascinating experiments involving light and sound waves.
