Living History:  Remembering Our Veterans An Evening with Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Paul Bucha and Award Winning Journalist Morton DeanMoffly Media Entertaining Conversations SeriesA portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Connecticut Veterans Organization In honor of Veterans Day, two compelling speakers who have experienced history first hand talk about two different perspectives on war - one fought on the front lines and a journalist who covered the battlegrounds. American Vietnam War veteran and recipient of the Medal of Honor Paul Bucha was sent to Vietnam in 1967 as a captain and commander of U.S. Army, Company D, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment. On March 16, 1968, he and his company of 89 men were dropped by helicopter southwest of Phuoc Vinh in Binh Duong Province. the company's lead group of about twelve men came under heavy fire and was pinned down. Bucha crawled towards them and destroyed an NVA bunker. as the NVA forces withdrew, he led a party to rescue those soldiers who had been cut off from the rest of the company.  After his tour of Vietnam he taught at West Point and most recently was a foreign policy adviser to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign As an Emmy Award winning news correspondent who has covered many historic headlines, for both CBS News (20 years) and ABC News (14 years), Morton Dean has traveled extensively covering breaking stories around the world and specialized in coverage of the U.S. space program, national politics and the Vietnam War. His Sunday CBS Evening News was rated number one during his entire tenure. Hear both of these men speak giving viewpoints of history through stories of the people they met and the issues they faced.Ticket Price: Gold Circle $45.00 includes pre-show cocktail party and meet & greet All seats $25.00 / Veterans & Students $20.00
