...A very fun and totally different and creative approach to exploring cross cultural differences, communication and cultural competency! We will explore another angle to understanding differences between people, exploring personalities and so much more through a "dramatic arts approach," and using kinesthetic, experiential and emotional exploratory techniques! By moving your body while learning, you will reach new levels of understanding and integration of otherwise basic concepts in your work and your life! This is complimentary -and yet also quite different- from all of the traditional, didactic workshops you may have attended. Don't be shy! Join us for a day of fun and learning! Date: Friday, December 14, 2012 Where: The Holiday Inn- North Haven, CT; 201 Washington Ave., North HavenTime: 9am-4 pm (Registration opens 8:30 am)Sponsored by: MLI, Inc www.mli-inc.org Beverages will be provided. Lunch is available for purchase at the hotel restaurant or from multiple outside venues. Workshop: Through this very, very hands-on workshop, we will work on developing an understanding of physicality of emotion, personality, and relationship through an outside-in approach. This active classroom setting will permit a new approach to understanding of behavior and personality by representing and simulating emotional states. The workshop will break down physicality and how it is influenced by the mind/different emotional states. The program involved will use exercises and practices from techniques such as Tadashi Suzuki, VIEWPOINTS, and various roleplay/improvisation approaches. Participates should expect to be immediately involved in the action and learning process. Participants should dress for an active day, and wear appropriate foot wear. No sandals, no high heels please! Get ready to MOVE and LEARN and be INTROSPECTIVE as well as LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF AND "OTHERS" in a totally new way! Instructor:Scott Kegler, a Performing Arts Professional, works throughout the Connecticut and Massachusetts areas . He has a degree in Performing Arts with a focus in mask performance and theatre history. He also studied Asian Theatre at Wakayama, University in Wakayama, Japan.
