“America Invents Act: Changing the Patent Landscape” – Presented by Updike, Kelly & SpellacyThe Leahy-Smith America Invents Act was passed by Congress and was signed into law in 2011, and represents some of the most significant changes to US Patent law since 1952. UKS will detail such changes, including changing from “first to invent” to “first to file” system, eliminating interference proceedings and developing post-grant opposition, as well as highlight the ambiguities that remain.   UKS will also discuss how the changed patent ground rules may affect businesses.
