The North Sea Community Association will host its 23rd Annual Wine & Cheese Party to raise funds for the upkeep of its building on February 4, 2013, 7pm to 9:30pm. The evening will include a Chinese Auction of gifts from local businesses and a 50/50 Raffle Drawing which will be drawn that evening. Admission is $10. The North Sea Community House is located at 130 Noyack Road, Southampton, NY 11968. The meeting house was constructed in 1929 as a schoolhouse. In 1934 residents in North Sea incorporated as the North Sea Community Association, Inc. in order to purchase the "old schoolhouse" from the local school district. They wanted it to be preserved in perpetuity for the benefit of the local community. The purpose was to provide the residents of North Sea with a place to meet, explore ideas, and collectively advance the betterment and beautification of our unique community. Since opening , many organizations have had their beginnings in this wonderful old building - the North Sea Fire Department, the North Sea Lions, and the North Sea C.A.C., to name a few. Additionally, over the years many organizations have utilized the building for their activities: Weight Watchers, Boy Scouts, Little League, etc Funds raised from dues and any fund raisers during the year go to the upkeep and maintenance of the building and grounds, insurance, fuel oil, the scholarships, and the holiday assistance (Good and Welfare) programs. $10
