Ayurveda is a 5000 year old preventative medicinal science that uses the 5 elements of ether, air, fire, water and earth to bring balance into the bodies, minds and souls of all beings. It is the sister science of yoga, and focuses on diet, lifestyle and other elements in it's approach. Sarajean Rudman is a Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, E-RYT, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant and health and fitness professional of over 10 years. She has studied with some of the greatest Ayurvedic minds in the world and is excited to share her knowledge with the YTT at Sacred Rivers Yoga. We will examine the origins of Ayurveda, the "doshas" or Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and some basic lifestyle pointers that Yoga teachers can incorporate in their own lives.
