“Amanda Kaletsky has the voice of a pop star, but the soul of a singer/songwriter. Her infectious [music] finds a middle ground between New York’s homey downtown clubs and the polish of Top 40 radio.” – Relix Magazine
Jumping from guitar to piano and back, Amanda delivers songs that are tastefully built around passion and melody. Nurtured by influences such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King, her introspective music ranges from sultry blues inspired love songs to power-driven pop hits, all carried by her emotional vocal performances. Her song “Everything Lies” off of her second EP, “Between You & Me” was featured on season 3 of MTV’s “The Hills”, and has music featured on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and MTV’s “True Life”. Along with her first EP, “Wait”, Amanda has sold over 2,000 copies and is in radio rotation from the Northeast to Hawaii. She was also recently hand-picked by Coldplay to open for the band in her home state of Connecticut at the XL Center.Surrounded by a love of music at an early age, Amanda trained as a classical violinist from the age of four. At the age of 13, she broadened her focus by learning guitar and piano, and began developing her vocal skills with the nationally recognized Elm City Girls Choir. Armed with years of classical training and non-classical influences, Amanda eventually found a personal balance in singing/songwriting.Amanda recently released her third full-length album, “Without You,” and continues to perform at a variety of venues in the Northeast. She also sings the National Anthem regularly for the New York Islanders and at other professional sporting events. LISTENBeth Patella has been performing, writing and singing for over 15 years. She grew up on show tunes and later studied classical singing in college, which she currently continues to study today. Beth avidly wrote and performed her own songs ten years ago, but a life tragedy interrupted her much excelling career. In the meantime, Beth became very involved in performing American jazz/blues standards, which she still actively performs today with a jazz trio. Despite her love for the jazz/blues standards, Beth has longed to be back performing her own compositions once again. Finally, this year, Beth has emerged back onto the singer/songwriter scene and has started her solo album that she never had a chance to finish years ago. Within this past year, Beth has been recording her album and has been performing with her band throughout the New Haven Area, including her “Beth Patella Band” Concert Debut at the Neighborhood Music School in New Haven in June 2012. Beth was a featured artist in the CT Folk Festival’s annual show on September 8th, 2012. Her album will be released this year on April 6th, 2013. She looks forward to her second chance, and the ability to move forward in her songwriting career. LISTENNew Haven’s own North Shore Troubadours are an instrumental surf rock band that takes the classic formula of twangy, reverb-drenched guitars and infectious rhythms inspired by Dick Dale, The Ventures, Laika & The Cosmonauts and Los Straitjackets, and evolved a progressive and original sound all our own. We fuse surf with jazz, punk, metal, psychedelia, reggae, klezmer, film and TV soundtracks, and anything that comes our way to create songs that are equal parts rock & roll circus and schizophonic cinemascape LISTEN
