Yoga for kids ages, Ages 2 – 10 This class offers a fun and exciting approach to kids yoga. Some of the countless benefits of yoga for children include freedom of self-expression, improved flexibility and balance, and enhanced coordination. Studies show that teaching yoga to children starting at a young age gives them coping tools they will take with them for life. Learn how to teach kids to increase their focus and center the body and mind through yoga and creative dance. Teachers will be taught how to create themes and structure a kids yoga class. Playful pose ideas, games, musical enhancements and prop ideas will be shared. Lastly we will learn relaxation and meditation techniques for even the most energetic of kids. Karla Kress-Boyle started dance at 3 and has over 10 years of experience teaching tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, lyrical, and many creative movement and preschool dance development classes. She has been an instructor at many local studios, and was co-owner of a dance studio for 4 years. She is a licensed Betty Hoops Dance Therapy Instructor, and a certified Full of Joy Yoga For Kids Instructor as well as a RYT 200 in Yoga for Every Body through Sacred Rivers. Her mission is to use yoga dance to teach children how to respect and love themselves, their bodies and others. Her signature class, Rhythm Yoga combines kids yoga with creative movement. Currently she teaches kids yoga at a variety of local studios, and is the assistant director or Mamoga Wellness, a traveling wellness studio. Their pioneer program is Mamoga Stroller Yoga.
