Stacey started her career as a professional dancer and choreographer in NYC. A dancer friend introduced her to yoga as a way to increase strength, stamina and flexibility. After a dance ending back injury, Stacey turned to yoga as a way to recover and find peace on and off the mat. Now she can't imagine a day without it.
Stacey was inspired to become a registered yoga teacher after her mother was hospitalized due to complications from multiple sclerosis. Stacey and her mom did yoga in chairs to help her mom regain mobility, manage stress and combat fatigue. This profound experience brought Stacey to the teacher training program at Sacred Rivers where she trained and became a 200RYT. Her love of yoga deepened as well as her belief that yoga is truly for every body.
Stacey's yoga classes focus on the mechanics of movement, alignment, mental awareness, and the balance of effort and ease to feel the power and benefits of each yoga posture. She encourages her students to challenge themselves physically as well as to connect mindfully to their practice.
