Note: $25 when you pre-register, $30 at the door Do the bleak Winter months get you down more than you think they should? Does this time of year seem to sap your energy, making you feel moody or cause your mood to get in the way of daily life? For many of us, this time of year means increased stress, lower energy levels, carbohydrate cravings, weight gain and difficulty concentrating. For some there is also a loss in interest in activities that normally bring us pleasure. These may all be symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is a condition that resembles depression. LifeForce Yoga: gives you tools to alleviate these symptoms and feel better. It is a practice of compassion, and will allow you to create a container to embrace all of these mood experiences with steadiness and ease. It includes careful attention to sensation through easy asanas, pranayama, chanting, mudras and yoga nidra - a very powerful process of meditation and relaxation. Studies have shown that these practices can also boost your immune system, lower blood pressure and decrease pain. During this workshop, you will be guided to access your deepest, slowest brain waves allowing the body and mind to "reset" itself. Most class participants leave feeling very refreshed and rejuvenated with a stronger mindset to face the challenges Winter can bring. All are welcome. NO prior yoga experience is necessary to benefit from this class. Lydia is a Yoga-Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified LifeForce Yoga Practitioner and Reiki Master/Teacher. She teaches classes and workshops for groups and privates. Additionally, she works very closely with many talented psychotherapists and mental health organizations that share her goal of alleviating the sometimes debilitating symptoms that arise as a result of depression.
