Supporting Acts: Great Caesar San Fermin San Fermin is a Brooklyn-based band led by 23-year-old composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone. The band combines expansive, brass-infused pop with baroque string arrangements. Upon graduating from college, Ludwig-Leone wrote San Fermin's self-titled debut on a two-month stay in the Canadian Rockies. When he returned to New York, he enlisted singers Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe (of the indie pop band Lucius) to join longtime friend and collaborator Allen Tate in forming the core of the group. In addition to this core, San Fermin’s debut record features performances by a set of talented instrumentalists, including members of yMusic, ACME, Bon Iver, Asphalt Orchestra, Great Caesar, and others. The result is a lush and sometimes brutal realization of the manic mindset of the newly adult, full of grandiose sentiment and eviscerating self-doubt. The band is currently promoting “Sonsick,” the first single off their upcoming self-titled debut. Outside of his work with the band, Ludwig-Leone is a musical assistant to the NYC-based composer Nico Muhly. Magic Man Magic Man began as a duo who grew out of spare moments and idle hours during a summer spent volunteering on different organic farms. Their debut album 'Real Life Color' was released in 2010. Magic Man is now a 4 piece Boston-based synth-pop outfit who are working on their 2nd album. New tracks will be released soon.
