1999: Santana reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the first time with “Smooth” a duet with Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas which spent twelve weeks at number one.

1998: A federal judge in St. Louis ruled that the Fort Zumwalt High School marching band will not be allowed to play “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane in its 60’s medley. The school superintendent banned the song on the grounds that the song promoted drug use.

1995: Def Leppard earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records by performing three concerts on three continents in one day. They performed at the Cave of Hercules in Tangiers, Shepherd’s Bush London and the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver to promote their first greatest hits album Vault: Def Leppard Greatest Hits (1980-1995). 

1993: Billy Joel made his fourth appearance as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live which was hosted by Jeff Goldblum.

1989: Nirvana performed their first European concert at the Riverside Club in Newcastle, U.K.

1980: Mark David Chapman signed out of his job as a security guard for the last time, signing out as John Lennon.

1976: Chicago reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the first time with “If You Leave Me Now” which spent two weeks at number one.

1972: Filming began for That’ll Be the Day a musical which starred David Essex, Ringo Starr and Keith Moon.

1966: The Jimi Hendrix Experience recorded their first single, a cover of Billy Roberts’ “Hey Joe” at the De Lane Lea Studios in London.

    The results for the Driver Challenge 2014 final were announced to the ugg boots for cheap assembled drivers and their supporters, with a live calculation of the rankings using Dynafleet telematic data exported from the trucks.
