2006: After living in the U.S. since the mid 1970’s, Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood became a U.S. citizen in Los Angeles.
2004: Ozzy Osbourne’s home in Buckinghamshire, U.K. was burglarized & stole over $3 million in jewelry. Osbourne had one of the burglars in a headlock however the burglar would later break free & jump out of a 30 foot tall window & was apparently injured by the fall.
2003: ZZ Top performed the final concert at The Summit in Houston, TX, the group’s hometown. Their first concert at The Summit was in November 1975.
1994: Pearl Jam’s third studio album Vitalogy was initially released only on vinyl. It would debut at number 55 on the Billboard Album Chart with 35,000 copies sold. The CD & cassette release occurred two weeks later & afterwards reached number one & went on to sell five million copies in the U.S.
1992: Paul Simon kicked off his first tour of South America in Brazil. Simon recorded his previous album The Rhythm of the Saints with many Brazilian musicians.
1991: Alice Cooper came to the rescue of fans Patrick and Dee Ann Kelly of Riverside, CA whose home was being foreclosed. Patrick painted Cooper’s face on a psychedelic painting on the house to help sell it. Cooper signed autographs to help raise money and 4,000 people turned up for the Kelly’s yard sale & they made their mortgage payment.
1990: Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman announced that his 17 month marriage to model Mandy Smith was over.
1981: At the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards & Ron Wood joined Muddy Waters onstage during Waters’ set.
1965: Bob Dylan married his first wife, Sara Lowndes in a secret ceremony. The couple would divorce in June of 1977.
