2010: At Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in Washington, D.C., Cat Stevens performed “Peace Train” & Ozzy Osbourne performed “Crazy Train” in proxy battle by Stewart & Colbert between sanity & fear.

1998: Black Sabbath appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman. It was their first appearance on American television since 1976.

1998: Kiss appeared on the television show Millennium both with and without their makeup.

1997: R.E.M. drummer Bill Berry announced that he was leaving the band. Berry told his bandmates that he would stay in the band if they would break up as a result, so the rest of the band agreed to carry on as a three-piece which they continued to do until their split in 2011.

1988: Bon Jovi kicked off their Jersey Syndicate Tour in support of New Jersey. The tour lasted sixteen months and they took a two year hiatus after the end of the tour.

1982: Rush peaked at number twenty-one on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with “New World Man” which would go on to be Rush’s only top forty hit in the U.S. This was the last song written for their album Signals.

1978: Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park the television movie starring Kiss premiered on NBC. Despite the poor reviews, the film has attained a cult status.

1976: Heart peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200 Album Chart with their debut album Dreamboat Annie which spent two weeks at number seven & went on to sell over a million copies in the U.S.

1970: A Miami court sentenced Jim Morrison to six months in jail and given a $500 fine for indecent exposure for allegedly flashing an audience in Miami.
