3/17/11 Today's Guests:

  • Lt. Governor Wyman - Celebrating in Hartford this morning, Nancy Wyman stopped by to share a beer with the Tribe, and share an original limerick about Chaz and AJ.
  • Hartford Mayor Segarra - To officially welcome WPLR and Chaz and AJ to their first live broadcast in Hartford, Mayor Pedro Segarra was in attendance and tried his best (bless his soul) at a rendition of 'Danny Boy.'
  • Bristol Mayor Ward - Art Ward made national headlines after nearly losing his life choking on a piece of steak. He was happy to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and life in general from McKinnon's this morning! Although that steak seems to be following him around..
  • East Haven Mayor April - As this is the first year not broadcasting from the Gaelic Club in East Haven, it seemed only right to have East Haven Mayor April in attendance to pass the torch and open the bar (which I think we all would agree is far more important).
  • McKinnon's Irish Pub - The generous host of WPLR's first live broadcast in Hartford, Matthew Corey and the McKinnon's staff went above and beyond in making this a success. Thank you all!
  • The Highland Rovers - Performing all morning for the Irish festivities, the Highland Rovers tore the place apart with killer sets! Bagpipe solo!
  • Jim Keefe - Jim is the man responsible for the original songs and keyboard music throughout the morning. Thanks for making the long haul from New Jersey!
  • John Whelan - John is one radical, epic accordion master, and he was sharing his skills live on the air this morning. And a special thanks to his partner in crime Jean the fiddle player!
  • Padraig Allen - Padraig drove all the way in from NYC early this morning after drinking 4 Guinness pints, and 2 shots of Jameson. He put on a performance to remember with the sultry Jessie by his side.
  • Sonia Baghdady - If you missed the live broadcast this morning, you missed Sonia in a bustier, booty shorts and fishnets dancing with a chair. All the more reason to come to the next Chaz and AJ live broadcast!
  • Sara Welch - Sara made the long trip from New Haven to learn how to play the bagpipes. That's some set of lungs she's got!
  • Jennifer Lahmers - Jennifer was also in house this morning for her first lesson in bag piping.. she was a natural.
  • Scotch on the Rocks - It's not a WPLR St. Patrick's Day without Scotch on the Rocks. These fine gentlemen were celebrating their 18th consecutive year bringing in this emerald holiday.
  • Terence Manning - Sharing his pipe and sack for Sara and Jennifer's education, bagpiper Terry Manning was on the air this morning sharing his knowledge of the traditional Irish instrument.
