TOP 10 LIST:

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY...MAKE SURE TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE. HERE ARE SOME OF HOLLYWOOD'S TAKE ON THE SUBJECT...

TOP 10: ELECTION MOVIES

#1) The Manchurian Candidate (2004) - This 2004 American thriller film is based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Richard Condon, and a reimagining of the previous 1962 film. It starred Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep
#2) Dave (1993) - This comedy-drama stars Kevin Kline who as a side job, is a presidential impersonator. When the real president suffers a severe stroke that leaves him in a coma, his handlers arrange for Dave to impersonate the President on an ongoing basis.
#3) The American President (1995) - Michael Douglas and Annette Bening headed up an all-star cast that also included Martin Sheen, Michael J. Fox and Richard Dreyfuss for this romantic comedy. Douglas character (Andrew Shepherd) is an immensely popular Democratic president from the state of Wisconsin preparing to run for re-election.
#4) The Distinguished Gentleman (1992) - Eddie Murphy plays a Florida con man named Thomas Jefferson Johnson in this political comedy centered around what members of Congress and lobbyists do to get what they want in Washington, D.C.
#5) Wag The Dog (1997) - Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro brought huge star power to this black comedy film about a Washington spin doctor who, merely days before a presidential election, distracts the electorate from a sex scandal by hiring a Hollywood film producer to construct a fake war with Albania.
#6) Primary Colors (1998) - In Primary Colors, John Travolta plays the charismatic governor of a Southern state, who decides to run for President of the United States. The film follows Stanton’s bumbling, philandering and yet charismatic rise to the top of American politics.
#7) Head Of State (2003) - Chris Rock and Bernie Mac starred in this 2003 election film. Rock’s character is surprisingly chosen as the party candidate for the presidency after his party’s original presidential and vice-presidential nominees die when their two separate planes crash into each other.
#8) Man Of The Year (2006) - In this 2006 film, Robin Williams plays Tom Dobbs, a character loosely based on real-life personas of Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, and Stephen Colbert. With an offhand remark, he prompts 4 million people to e-mail their support, then he decides to campaign for President.
#9) Black Sheep (1996) - After Tommy Boy took off, it only made sense to bring Farley and Spade back together for another go-round. Black Sheep portrays a political contest in which the candidate deals with unwanted and incompetent help from his brother.
#10) Bulworth (1998) - Bulworth was co-written, co-produced and directed by the film’s star, Warren Beatty. It was loosely based on the life of Beatty’s friend, Tennessee political figure John Jay Hooker. It co-stars Halle Berry
