Milford Mayor Ben Blake (who sounded like he hadn't slept much) was on early this morning to update us on the progress of digging everyone out.

Governor Malloy also called in to assure everyone that the plow drivers are continuing to clear roads and free everyone.

David Biller, an insurance adjuster, was in studio to help the Tribe deal with damage lingering from the snow storm.

Scot Haney was on to tell us about more snow coming this week!

TOP 10 LIST:

When you have snow and rain and cold temperatures, icy roads on your commute are sure to happen. Here's some ways to avoid having an accident on your winter morning commute...

TOP 10: SNOW & ICE COMMUTER DRIVING TIPS

1) Get up earlier to give you time to prepare the car. Clear all windows of snow and ice using de-icer and a scraper. Do not drive off with just a tiny hole cleared in the windscreen.
2) Go slow. Reduce your risk of skidding by reducing your speed, too much power is often the source of problems in snow and ice.
3) Always apply brakes gently.
4) Plan routes to use major roads which are more likely to have been plowed.
5) Put safety before punctuality when the bad weather closes in. Drivers must accept the possibility of being late for work if they are caught up in an unexpected delay.
6) If your vehicle skids, turn the steering wheel into the direction of the skid. When the vehicle straightens steer along the road. Don't brake - it will just lock up your wheels and you'll skid further.
7) Listen to the road. If your tires are making virtually no noise this could be a sign you're driving on ice.
8) No sudden movements. Gentle maneuvres are the key to safe driving.
9) Leave plenty of space between your car and the one ahead of you.
10) Just drive. Don't talk or text on a cellphone, pay full attention to driving and nothing else.
