This Day in Music History...

1976: John Bonham and Jimmy Page get together in Montreux, Switzerland to record "Bonzo's Montreux." The track is left off In Through the Out Door and finally released, after Bonham's death, on Coda.

1977: The B-52's play their first New York show at Max's Kansas City in front of 17 people. Despite the small crowd, the colorful band from Athens, Georgia is invited back.

1985: Ian Stewart, road manager, sometime keyboardist and original member of The Rolling Stones, dies of a heart attack at 47. He also co-wrote and played on Led Zeppelin's "Boogie With Stu," from Physical Graffiti.

1997: AC/DC's Back in Black goes 12-times platinum.

2000: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announces that its class of 2001 will include Aerosmith, Queen, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Ritchie Valens, Solomon Burke and Michael Jackson.
