By Mike Lapitino

This Day in Music History...

1973: A Who concert in Newcastle, England is interrupted when Pete Townshend throws a fit and storms offstage after the band's sound engineer misses a cue for the backing tape needed to play a Quadrophenia song.  The band returns to complete the show, but performs no further songs from Quadrophenia.

1977: Ozzy Osbourne quits Black Sabbath, but will rejoin the band in a few weeks.  A little over a year later, he'll be fired and will go out as a solo act.

1999: Gary Cherone announces he's leaving Van Halen after just one album with the band.

2000: The Who appear on the 250th episode of The Simpsons.

2007: Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood announce they are teaming up for three shows in New York in 2008.
