This Day in Music History...

1968: Rolling Stone Brian Jones buy Cotchford Farms in England, where A.A. Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh.

1971: Santana Three, featuring "Everybody's Everything," tops the Billboard album chart.

1992: Ozzy Osbourne puts up $75,000 to bail out his former Black Sabbath bandmate Tomy Iommi, who was arrested for non-payment of child support. Sabbath was opening Ozzy's two "farewell" concerts, starting in Costa Mesa, California the next day.

2000: The Beatles' website (www.thebeatles.com) is launched a day before the hits collection 1 goes on sale. 

2000: Creed receive three American Music Awards nominations.

2003: Three days shy of the tenth anniversary of its release, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' Greatest Hits album is certified 10-times platinum.

2005: Metallica opens the first of two shows for The Rolling Stones at San Francisco's SBC Park.
