This Day in Music History...

1978: The members of The Police dye their hair blond for a Wrigley's gum TV commercial.

1986: INXS's Listen Like Thieves debuts on Billboard's album chart. It nearly becomes the band's first Top 10 album, peaking at #11.

1989: Tracy Chapman wins three Grammys, including Best New Artist. Jethro Tull's victory in Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category will be ridiculed by metal fans for year to come.

2000: Ex-Police guitarist Andy Summers receives a Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Gibson Guitar Awards.
