This Day in Music History...

1986: The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame holds its first induction ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York. In alphabetical order, the Class of 1986 consists of Chuck Berry, James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Fats Domino, The Everly Brothers, DJ Alan Freed, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Sun Records founder Sam Phillips and Elvis Presley.

1990: David Bowie announce another farewell tour, this one an all-hits program entitled Sound + Vision.

2000: Foo Fighter Dave Grohl is arrested in Australia for driving a moped while intoxicated.

2004: A judge orders Scott Weiland to return to drug rehab after discovering the Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver singer had left earlier than scheduled.
