The Branford Road Race is a Branford tradition founded by Ray Figlewski and Dick Wainman. The races take place annually on Father’s Day and closes out the Branford Festival. The event traditionally draws a crowd of over 5,000 runners, walkers, spectators, and volunteers. The event raises funds for Camp Rising Sun, American Parkinson Disease Association and other community organizations.

The 5 mile certified course passes through many of Branford’s scenic beaches, parks and residential neighborhoods. The 2 mile health walk is non-competitive and includes park and river views. The 1 mile family fun run is timed with hundreds of participants running around the historic Branford Green.
