WHAT IS ‘MAKE MUSIC DAY?’

Until recently I’ve never heard of this amazing event which encompasses not only the USA, but is held around the world.  All people, at any skill level, are encouraged to perform, either solo, with friends, with strangers or with bands, and make music.  Any kind of music. Music has an ability to unify people of any age, race, religion, political view, and open us to our human similarities.  Music can reach us where words fail, and friendships can develop where there once was little chance.

And after covid and recent world events, we can all use some togetherness.  Oxford Cultural Arts recognizes the need for unity in our communities and invites all people, from all towns, to come by and perform or just watch.  Family friendly entertainment.

I would like to direct you to the “Make Music Day’ website for a thorough outlook of this amazing event, with photos and detailed descriptions.       https://www.makemusicday.org/about/faq/

To set up an interview our Chairwoman, Cynthia, of Oxford Cultural Arts, and her decision to present this incredible event,                                                    please e mail culturalarts@oxford-ct.gov        Subject: Interview
