The American Red Cross and Metallica are once again joining forces to help save lives through the power of blood donors.
In celebration of the band’s upcoming concerts honoring Mohegan Sun Arena’s 25th Anniversary, members of the Metallica Family and eligible donors of all blood types ─ especially those with type O blood ─ are urged to make a difference by booking an appointment now to give blood Nov. 18 or Nov. 20-21, 2026, at the Red Cross x Metallica Blood Drive hosted by Mohegan Sun.
Three-day blood drive to be held in the Uncas Ballroom at Mohegan Sun.
- 1 Mohegan Sun Blvd., Uncasville, CT 06382
- Wednesday, Nov. 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with Type O blood.
- Type O is the most-needed blood type by hospitals and is often in short supply.
All who come to give will receive an exclusive Red Cross x Metallica T-shirt designed by Squindo, while supplies last.
The last two months of the year can be a challenge for many donors trying to juggle regular donation appointments with packed schedules full of seasonal activities and holiday planning.
- The need for blood is constant. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood.
- A single blood donation can help save more than one life.
- Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer.
