The 10th Annual Closer to Free Ride

The 10th Annual Closer to Free Ride

On Saturday, September 12th, over an estimated 2,500 riders and 600 volunteers will participate in the 10th Annual Closer to Free Ride to help raise funds for Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center.

When you Ride Closer to Free, you’re joining Connecticut’s best cycling event. Now in its 10th year, the Closer to Free Ride presented by Bank of America is the one you don’t want to miss.

Starting and ending at the historic Yale Bowl, the CTF Ride features five professionally-designed and fully-supported routes: 10 miles, 25 miles, 40 miles, 65 miles and the iconic CTF Century at 100 miles. Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or looking for a family friendly ride – This is Your Year. This is Your Ride.

Thanks to the generous support of you and the event sponsors, one hundred percent of the funds raised by Closer to Free riders and volunteers directly supports research and patient care at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital. Over the past nine years, the Closer to Free Ride funds have benefited programs and initiatives including:  Specialty Programs, Survivorship Programs, Cancer Genetics & Prevention Program and Phase I Clinical Trials.
