PODCAST – Thursday, July 27: Jimmy Koplik; DJ Hernandez Arrest Audio; Why Playing With Ouija Boards Is Never A Good Idea

It’s been 50 years since Jimmy Koplik and Shelly Finkel achieved what Woodstock was unable to, with the success of Summer Jam at Watkins Glen. Jimmy shared how the festival came together, made money, remained peaceful, and actually got all the bands on stage – even if it took a little extra incentive in the form of cold, hard cash.

DJ Hernandez, brother to Aaron Hernandez, was arrested for the fourth time this year just this week. Chaz and AJ had some audio from the police body cam footage of the moment he was arrested after being tased.

Tony Spera, son-in-law of Ed and Lorraine Warren, was in studio to share a story about why playing Ouija boards is never a good idea.

A city employee has been hailed as a hero for saving a woman in a wheelchair from an intense fire. Pat Mulvehill told the whole story on the air with Chaz and AJ, from the moment he saw smoke, to hearing screams for help, and how he jumped into action to save a stranger. (0:00)

Stunt or Stupid! AJ’s “pot head challenge” was re-named since he couldn’t understand the language in the source video, but involved him trying to dodge pots and pans with his head. Maybe the translation was more important that originally thought, because this one nearly ended in disaster. (7:10)

The Tribe called in to share their stories of getting into fights with strangers, including one caller who admitted to losing to a girl. (14:34)

Comedian Vince Berry was out this weekend at a nerd convention, and spoke with the folks who were there in character. The REAL Duke Nukem, a fake Misty from Pokemon, and at least one Ken from Barbie were all in attendance. (35:47)
