PODCAST – Friday, May 27: This Week’s Flubbles; Someone On The Show Never Cleans Their BBQ Grill; Boss Keith’s Top 5

The Flubble Montage was completely dominated by AJ this week, who struggled to explain movie stunts, couldn’t find the word “debunked,” and blamed caffeine intake for getting too excited talking about a Cheech and Chong movie scene. (0:00)

Eric Hummel was on to help with some grilling tips, and explain why you do not put ketchup on hot dogs after age 11. (5:20)

Stamford Fire Chief Tom G was on with some grill safety tips, especially when it comes to cleaning your grill. A big fight broke out when someone on the show mentioned they NEVER clean the grill. (20:48)

Boss Keith’s Top 5 had big summer vibes, as he focused on the things to get excited about since summer is here. (31:58)

Dumb Ass News – There is no way this man was telling the truth, claiming this was the first time he’s tried sticking things in his urethra. (39:58)

99.1 PLR Perfect Album: Pearl Jam ‘Ten’

After Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood died of a heroin overdose, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament started to put together a new band. Hearing a demo from San Diego singer Eddie Vedder, the band soon formed Pearl Jam. A lot of the instrumental tracks on Ten were written and Vedder added lyrics that dealt with everything from homelessness to bullying. In the end, Ten was a combo of classic rock and punk, and wound up outselling Nirvana’s Nevermind to the tune of 13 million copies. The album featured the video of the year “Jeremy”, as well as other Pearl Jam classics like “Black”, “Even Flow” and “Alive”.

Fun Fact: “Alive”, “Once” and B-side “Footsteps” make a trio of songs that tells a very dark story dealing with incest, murder and the death penalty. Yeah, so maybe this wasn’t really a fun fact.

A Wisconsin couple fought off a bear that attacked them inside their home. Local sheriff, Larry Woebbeking was on the phone to share the brutal details of the fight, and how the couple escaped with their lives. (13:15)

Vietnam veteran Theodore Mackey was on the phone with Chaz and AJ to talk about his service during the war, as a SEAL that specialized in weapons training. He admitted a jungle dog saved his life on multiple occasions, including the time he was alerted to a nighttime ambush. (26:46)

PODCAST – Tuesday, May 24: Dan Malloy Might Get Fired; Aircraft Carrier Vet On How Real The New “Top Gun” Is; Airport Fistfight Goes Viral

Chaz and AJ have recently been former Governor Dan Malloy’s following his job in Maine as chancellor for the state’s public universities. Things have not gone well of late, and there’s a real possibility he loses his job because of it. (0:00)

Comedian Paul Mecurio was in studio and spent a while talking about something he rarely brings up in public. Over 20 years ago, a stunt with Opie & Anthony led to the show getting fired, Paul getting arrested, and we finally get to hear Paul’s side of the story. (14:06)

Jim Cannon, an aircraft carrier veteran, was on talking about the real life situations he found himself in during service. The original Top Gun movie is a far cry from reality, but with the long-awaited sequel coming out this weekend Jim was happy to share his stories. (32:48)

A viral video of a fist fight at an airport has cost one employee his job, and whole lot of pride after taking a shot to the head by a former NFL player. Chaz and AJ asked the Tribe to call in their craziest fight stories. (42:49)
