PODCAST – Monday, April 18: Red Sox Opening Day Audio; The Guy Who Found Millions Of Dollars Of Artwork In A Dumpster; We Talk To A Former White House Chef

Chaz and AJ had just played audio from Matt, and his People of Boston podcast, interviewing Red Sox fans on opening day. One fan admitted his best opening day memory was witnessing a fight. So, they asked the Tribe to call in the fights they witnessed, and both of these stories involved a stage. One for dancers, and one for graduates. (0:00)

Jared Whipple’s story went viral recently, claiming he found art worth millions of dollars in a dumpster. The whole story is far more interesting, and Jared was on to explain why he decided to spent years of his time creating an art display for the artist, Francis Hines. (12:55)

Jimmy Rap was on with bus stop audio. As it turns out, Jimmy was out there yesterday, during Easter, and may have interrupted a somber gathering. Smokey, Streets and John all were very happy to chat with Jimmy, and attempt an Easter themed tongue-twister. (30:08)

Army veteran and former White House chef Andre Rush was on explaining how the President has to pay for the food that’s prepared by the White House chef. He’s learned quite a bit in his life, and recently wrote a book to capture his story from the rural south to the White House, “Call Me Chef, Dammit.” (44:54)

99.1 PLR Perfect Album: The Cars ‘The Cars’

It is not often that your debut album also sounds like a greatest hits. The Cars are one of those bands thanks to the genius of Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr. These two Boston based musicians came up with a sound that would later would be called new wave. An album with six hits that eventually went 6x platinum and helped usher them into the ’80s where their sound would become one of the biggest.

Trooper Salerno gave an update on the fugitive that was ultimately apprehended by Connecticut troopers, from a pursuit that began in Massachusetts. While discussing the details of his arrest, Chaz and AJ both agreed they are not cut out to be police officers. (7:53)

Live Nation’s Jimmy Koplik answered the Tribe’s questions about their favorite bands, including Five Finger Death Punch, Jethro Tull and even explained why there seems to be fewer shows coming to the XFINITY Theater in Hartford. (14:46)

The Tribe is really trying their best to stump Rob Ray on his 70s music knowledge, mentioning names of bands that haven’t even had a hit in the United States. (39:57)
