Throwback Concert: Poison at Lake Compounce 1988

Throwback Concert: Poison at Lake Compounce 1988

Happy Birthday Bobby Dall! The bassist for Poison turns 57 on November 2nd.

Today we take a trip back to 1988 when Poison came to Lake Compounce at perhaps the height of their popularity. Poison was out promoting their second studio album Open Up and Say…Ahh!, which included hit songs “Nothin’ but a Good Time” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”  Joining Poison on the bill was Lita Ford and Britny Fox.

During the song “Back To The Rocking Horse,” an upset Bret Michaels paused the show due to technical difficulties. After it was fixed, the band returned to the stage and played on.

PODCAST – Friday, October 30: COVID Numbers On The Rise; Freak Week Concludes; Tiger King’s Carole Baskin

Ashley still hasn’t watched “Sinister,” so she will be punished with the worst movie Chaz and AJ could think of, “Battlefield Earth.” John Travolta called in to talk about his movie being misunderstood. (9:49)

Dumb Ass News – In Florida, where all the dumbasses live, a man was mauled by a black leopard. He actually paid for this experience, too. (12:24)

Tony Spera is the son in law of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and was on with Chaz and AJ this morning to address rumors that the infamous Annabelle doll had escaped/been lost. Plus, some chilling audio from a job Tony assisted on in 2013. (21:21)

Carole Baskin of “Tiger King” fame was on the show, and Chaz and AJ had more than one question for her about the disappearance of her husband. (34:09)

Boss Keith was in for his weekly Top 5 list, which was full of anger and rage over Halloween being ruined this year. (41:52)

President Trump was on the phone to talk about Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation into the Supreme Court, Mike Pence being the perfect hype man, and why he’s going to be Rudy Giuliani for Halloween. Then, former VP Joe Biden wouldn’t give the phone back to the President. (0:00)

Throwback Concert: Eagles at The XFINITY Theatre 1996

Throwback Concert: Eagles at The XFINITY Theatre 1996

This week we celebrate Timothy B. Schmit’s birthday! The bassist and vocalist for the Poco and the Eagles turns 73 years old on October 30th.

Today we look back at an Eagles tour we thought we’d never see. After a 14 year hiatus (or “vacation” as Glenn Frey put it) the Eagles reunited in 1994 with the five Long Run-era members: Frey, Schmit, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Don Felder. The band went on a massive world tour that lasted over two years. Luckily we got to see tail end of that tour when the Eagles came to Hartford in 1996.

Wednesday, October 28: Freak Week Continues; The Best Breakfast Sandwich In The Country Is In CT; The Most Boring Movie Ever

Chaz and AJ invited Dr. Dennis on to see if Ashley had a legit claim about her mental anguish, as an excuse for not watching “Sinister” over the weekend. (0:00)

Kevin Donovan wrote a book, “The Billionaire Murders” about a high profile case in Canada. Chaz and AJ invited him on this morning to explain what he’s uncovered, and why police originally investigated the incident as a murder-suicide. (8:52)

The world’s number one breakfast sandwich is made in Connecticut. Frank from Garden Catering was on to explain the origin of the “Hotsy.” (21:48)

Since Ashley bailed on watching a scary movie, Chaz and AJ asked movie critic Joe Meyers (and the Tribe) to help find the most boring movie possible as her punishment. (30:46)

Boss Keith raged his way through a segment ridiculing Ashley for bailing on his assignment to watch “Sinister.” He settled on the perfect punishment movie for her, though. (45:49)
