Tuesday, September 9: Bad VHS Date “Skip,” Bear Attacks Dog, Arrested on a Barbie Jeep

Josh Ballard was on the phone with Chaz and AJ this morning to talk about the bear attack he and his dog survived recently. The bears were eating pears from the tree, when Evan (the dog) ran outside and surprised them. Josh had to fend off the angry mama bear with all he had; a set of jingle bells. (7:36)

After hearing Josh and Evan’s story, the Tribe called in their own animal encounter stories. From cows in the driveway, to wild pigs, and doing battle with an eagle. Finally, a nurse in Kentucky made the news for rescuing a drunk baby raccoon from the dumpster behind a distillery. (20:49)

Monday, September 8: Baby Cages on Bad Idea Island, VHS Dates, Doogie the Croc King

Chaz and AJ’s “Bad Idea Island” continues with the baby cage. A real product that was sold in the early 1900’s, and had children suspended from the windows of high-rise buildings in major cities. (0:00)

Sarah Dellaventura of Bishop’s Orchard was on the phone with Chaz and AJ this morning to talk about their farm being in the running for recognition as one of the 10 best orchards in the country. Things were going well until AJ brought up his favorite apple. (5:30)

In Dumb Ass News, Chaz and AJ dig into the rich content of VHS Dates. Stacey was up first, who needs a sports car and loves cupcakes for the frosting. (12:41)

Chaz and AJ asked the Tribe to call in their collections, since Doogie Lish, the Croc King, was coming in studio after recently setting the Guinness World Record. Ratchets, padlocks, autographs, and circus mallets were all called in. (20:05)

Sully Erna from Godsmack is on the patio at Mohegan Sun to wrap up the summer concert series there, and was on with Chaz and AJ this morning to talk about the unique makeup of his band. Sully is bringing in some friends, will play Godsmack hits, and some surprise covers for the fans. Sully also had some big thoughts on Aerosmith’s retirement, and what he’d like to see Steven Tyler do to say goodbye to the fans.

Friday, September 5: Scot Haney’s Sciatica, Making Us Say “Wow!,” The Naked Skydiver

Scot Haney was on the phone with Chaz and AJ this morning, talking about breaking the news to Kara Sundlun of her induction into the Connecticut Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame. Plus, his sciatica caused big problems for him during a recent trip. (0:00)

Chaz and AJ debuted a new segment today, “Make Us Say Wow!” The Tribe called in their most outlandish stories of injuries, prison time, and bank robberies. (15:42)

Rian Kanouff, “the Naked Skydiver,” was on with Chaz and AJ to talk about his attempt at 100 jumps in a 24-hour period. Rian admitted to peeing mid-air, so that he could properly time out all of the jumps. (45:32)

Boss Keith was back in studio for his Top 5, which covered his daughter’s first week on campus at college. (58:33)
