Throwback Concert: Smashing Pumpkins at New Haven Coliseum 1997

99.1 PLR celebrates 50 years! This week we are celebrating another great year in our history: 1997!

That year PLR welcomed the Smashing Pumpkins to New Haven Coliseum. The Smashing Pumpkins were on their “Infinite Sadness Tour” to support their third studio album “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” which featured such hits as Bullet with Butterfly Wings, 1979, Zero and Tonight, Tonight.

This wasn’t the first time the Pumpkins played in New Haven. In 1991 they played a club show at The Moon on Whalley Avenue.
