Throwback Concert: “Weird Al” Yankovic at Toad’s Place 1992

Throwback Concert: “Weird Al” Yankovic at Toad’s Place 1992

99.1 PLR celebrates 50 years! This week we are celebrating another great year in our history: 1992!

That year PLR welcomed Weird Al Yankovic to Toad’s Place. Weird Al hit the road in 1992 to support his seventh studio album, “Off The Deep End,” which featured such singles as Smells Like Nirvana and You Don’t Love Me Anymore.

Weird Al was no stranger to New Haven. Back in the 80s and 90s he we would regularly perform at Toad’s and pack the house. He’d also be a regular at our radio station studio before each of his shows!

Here he is hanging out in our hallway outside the studio door
