Friday, November 19: The Week In Flubbles; Close Calls On 95; The Ultimate Rock Auction

The Flubble Montage was short and sweet this week, highlighted by a very tired AJ from last Friday, before he exited the box. (0:00)

Comedian Mo Mussa was in studio with Chaz and AJ, and had just finished telling them about the crazy car accident he was in on 95. The Tribe called in some insane close-calls they’ve experienced and felt lucky to be alive after. (10:19)

Martin from Julien’s Auctions called Chaz and AJ this morning to talk about the crazy exclusive and valuable rock items that are expected to fetch some crazy money this weekend. Everything from guitars played by Eric Clapton, to ones built by Eddie Van Halen, and items or notes that once belonged to Kurt Cobain, Robert Plant, Elvis, and more. (17:40)

Boss Keith’s Top 5 started with a war of words about U2 and their most important album, Achtung Baby. Then, he shared the top five things he’s most looking forward to next week. (37:12)

50 Years, 50 Albums 1976: Eagles ‘Hotel California’

The music of 1976 is synonymous with names like Steve Miller, Bob Seger and the Eagles. All artists have some great musical anthems like “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Night Moves” and, of course, “Hotel California.” It was the Eagles’ fifth studio album that came in with the most votes this week. It was the first album to feature Joe Walsh replacing Bernie Leadon on lead guitar as the band was going more into a rockier edge than the previous country-rock sound that they created in the early ’70s. Don Felder, the other lead guitarist, and Joe made for an incredible duo with some of the most memorable guitar solos ever. Hotel California won a Grammy for Record of the Year and one for the song “New Kid in Town.” The album sold over 32 million copies worldwide, coming in second to their Greatest Hits album which sold over 42 million copies worldwide!

Live Nation’s Jimmy Koplik was on with Chaz and AJ talking about the viral video depicting Brass Against’s lead singer peeing on a fan, on stage. Jimmy admitted he has seen a performer urinate on stage before, but it was during sound check and definitely not on purpose. (9:55)
