New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker wants to “one-up” Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin on his presentation to deter riding ATVs in the street. Plus, Bridgeport Deputy Fire Chief James Buck talks about having to rescue 28 people from the beach. (17:11)

Jennifer was on to explain why she screamed over the weekend, and threw out a pair of shoes. (30:15)

Camp Getaway, an adult camp in Kent, CT will be a show on Bravo starting tonight! David, who runs the camp, was on with Chaz and AJ to explain what to expect from the show. (34:51)

Steve’s birthday was Friday, while serving in Afghanistan. Chaz and AJ gave him a shoutout for building a makeshift and badass gym, and acknowledged “The Gun Bunnies.” (45:19)

Mark Hayward from the Small Business Administration was on with Chaz and AJ to offer the Tribe help on securing the small business loans. Towards the end of the interview, Tim came on to tell Mark what to say. (47:38)

Ashley’s mom, Momma Gee, had a socially distanced birthday over the weekend, but it was her gift that Chaz and AJ had a big issue with. (1:01:58)

AJ is going to attempt biking for 24 straight hours, “Miles for Masks” so Chaz and AJ brought in a professional to help him. Luke Yoder from The Edge Fitness was on to help AJ to prepare. (1:09:10)

James from Seymour called Chaz and AJ to talk about becoming an Eagle Scout during quarantine. However, James took a little too long getting to the point, and was hung up on, leading into Dumb Ass News. (1:23:11)

It is a rare, rare moment when AJ comes to the defense of children. Today was one of those rare moments, because AJ was such a fan of this 8-year-old’s viral song. (1:31:51)

In 2018 we saw the reunion of one of the biggest alternative rock bands of the 90s: The Smashing Pumpkins. Three-fourths of the Pumpkins’ founding lineup – singer Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin reunited for their first tour together in nearly 20 years.

Today we look back at the tour and their show at Mohegan Sun Arena.

About The Tour: The Smashing Pumpkins “Shiny And Oh So Bright” 36-city North American tour kicked off in Glendale, Arizona on July 12, 2018. The summer tour would visit arenas across the United States, plus Montreal and Toronto.

The tour happened to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the band’s formation. To celebrate the milestone, The Pumpkins’ setlist featured mostly songs from the band’s inception through 2000, arguably their most popular era.  The set at Mohegan Sun Arena included songs mainly from first five albums: Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and Machina/The Machines of God. For longtime Pumpkins’ fans it felt like 2000 all over again.

Chaz and AJ had Eunice on the phone this morning with an update on the newborn raccoon that Chaz and Jennifer found in their backyard. Plus, Jennifer admits that she may have heard the exact moment the baby was born. (0:00)

Bob Stefanowski called in to announce a new mask giveaway event in New Haven for next week, since there was such a high demand following Tuesday’s event in Hartford. Plus, Joe from Oxford Lumber was on the phone to pledge some early donations to AJ’s “Miles for Masks.” (13:22)

Scot Haney has good news for this weekend’s forecast, and his grandfather clock makes another guest appearance. (23:30)

Happy birthday, Momma Gee! Ashley’s mom was on the phone this morning to celebrate her birthday on air, since she will not be able to do it person. (32:52)

Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin was on to talk about a big problem in his city, ATVs. Chaz and AJ asked him about the decision to crush a number of vehicles that were confiscated, and the message he hopes to send by doing so. (39:59)

During Winner of the Week, Chaz and AJ spoke to Stacy, who has been doing “porch portraits” of families in quarantine. (52:06)

Boss Keith’s Top 5 this week was about the weird things he’s noticed during quarantine, including people who are “mask hot.” (57:26)

It’s still hard to believe Tom Petty is no longer with us. It was over two years ago the legendary singer and guitarist passed away unexpectedly at the age of 66. He may be gone, but his music lives on and so do the memories of his live performances.

Today we look back at Tom Petty’s second-to-last performance in Connecticut.

About The Tour: Tom Petty & The Heartbreaks hit the road in 2014 to support their thirteenth – and final – studio album, Hypnotic Eye. The tour kicked off in early August in San Diego and featured special guest Steve Winwood. Two weeks before their show in Hartford, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers played Boston’s Fenway Park for the very first time on Labor Day Weekend.

Every ticket purchased on this tour included a copy of Hypnotic Eye.

Opening the show at The XL Center was Steve Winwood, who’s set spanned his musical career: The Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith, Traffic and one solo song.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers took the stage and opened with a cover of The Byrds’ “So You Want to Be a Rock ‘n’ Roll Star,” which was the opening track on the band’s first live album in 1985, Pack Up The Plantation: Live! The two-hour performance featured four songs off the new album and plenty of familiar hits. The capacity crowd at The XL Center enjoyed singing along to songs like Free Fallin’, Learning to Fly and American Girl.

Gary called in to talk about his 101-year-old mother’s incredible recovery from Coronavirus, the second pandemic she’s survived, and her Oreo preference. (55:14)

Bill Lee is a manufacturer that employs around 1,100 people and was on with Chaz and AJ to talk about the way he’s taking care of the people who work for him. Plus, Magilla was on from Florida to talk about the state’s plan to begin opening businesses in some way, starting next week. (1:07:45)

John Foley, a former naval aviator with the Blue Angels was on with Chaz and AJ to talk about the coordinated flyover of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut with the Thunderbirds. Plus, he admitted the origin of his call sign “Gucci,” helping out on the original “Top Gun,” and some of the celebrities he’s given the full experience to.
