A news report from Florida, another man has gone viral for wrestling with a gator to save his dog. Chaz and AJ loved his comments to the reporter. (0:00)

The Tribe called in their encounters with animals, including a raccoon, a bat, and a mountain lion. (9:37)

While talking about the punishments teachers can no longer get away with, Chaz and AJ took a call from a guy who admitted his teacher used to make misbehaving students wear a dunce cap and a pacifier. (18:07)

A flurry of concert announcements were made yesterday, including three show at the brand new Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport. Jimmy Koplik was on to share the good feeling of having shows to talk about. (24:01)

The finale of Chaz and AJ’s Roller Coaster Karaoke, this time Ashley and Phil do their best to sing Whitney Houston on Quassy’s Wooden Warrior. Ashley needed a lot of beep tones (and time to catch her breath,) and Phil completely ruined the bit, mere seconds into his attempt. (6:23)

Allie from the Ridgefield Playhouse was on to play the Rider Game with the Tribe, and everyone got to learn a little bit about “slippery elm.” (15:15)

A 6-year-old named Archer beat leukemia, and fulfilled his make-a-wish of blowing up a bridge. (21:46)

Derek Jeter’s house in Tampa Bay sold recently, setting a record for the area. Chaz and AJ went nuts over the details of the house. (25:18)

50 Years, 50 Albums 1997: Foo Fighters ‘The Colour and the Shape’

This was a big week for the Foo Fighters as they have been inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and their second album The Colour and the Shape goes into our “Hall of Fame” as well. Released in 1997,The Colour and the Shape marks the official debut of the Foo Fighters as a band. The self-titled debut album was pretty much all Dave Grohl, who in his own right is an extremely gifted musician, songwriter, and film director. (He directed most of the Foo’s videos). After the success of the first album, Dave recruited Pat Smear on guitar, Nate Mendel on bass and William Goldsmith on drums as Dave took over the front man duties and switched to guitar, marking the official debut of the band’s first lineup. With the singles “Monkey Wrench,” “Everlong” and “My Hero” this album became the biggest-selling album for the band and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Album in 1998. It sold over 2 million copies after its release and was certified double platinum for the single “Everlong” in 2007. At this time, we would like to welcome the Foo Fighters second album The Colour and the Shape into the WPLR Hall of Fame! Thanks for your votes.
